Nokia 5800, Comes with Music availability and prices per country
Nokia 5800 “Tube” XpressMusic comes to Hongkong and than Spain, Russia. Italy is preparing with a preorder, Music Store is announced (it’s been working since April, but whatever), rumors pop up here and there. Frankly, I’m losing track. How about you?
I’ve collected all steps leading to a 5800 with a Comes with Music package in the table below. I will update it as news come in – and you can subscribe to the comments to get notified about updates. Let the countdowns begin :-)
As a summary: the Nokia 5800 “Tube” XpressMusic does not come with the unlimited Comes with Music service by default. Initially, it is available as just a phone. For those countries, which get it before Christmas, it costs around 429 EUR – including a 100 EUR extra (music vouchers or accessories). Starting January, you will be able to buy it without the extras for 300 – 330 EUR. Comes with Music requires the Nokia Music Store to go live in your country. Judging from previous examples, it takes 3-6 months after going live for it to be fully functional. CwM package might come after that for the 5800 (and other phones).

@Pauli: many thanks, I have updated the table with your info.
Don’t you know anything about when it arrives to Portugal?
Carlos
@Chaplin: I’ve added Portugal, but so far I could only find a light “end of January” statement. I’ll update if I find more.
Ok dude, thanks! ;)
Support site is up in India, which usually means 2 weeks until availability. It might coincide with the Music Store beta launch?

How about Thailand, do u know the release date?
I’ve booked one at Powerbuy, it costs me 325$
Hey Bex at which powerbuy did you book one.
Powerbuy is a huge electronic retail store run by Central Group.
During 3-26 Nov, they opened a booking period for Nokia 5800.
The price was set at 11390B (1USD=35B)
As of now, such period hasn’t been extended. Those who have booked are waiting for the device to come (rumors have it that Thailand is gonna see Nokia 5800 in 2009 but when???)

Philippines is on preorder now (only 58 phones, so hurry ;-), added South Africa to the list :-)
@Bex: thanks for the link and info! I had the price, but this is good update.
Available officially in the Middle east in limited stock as of 4th December 2008. Just got mine yesterday evening and setting it up now :)
http://www.esanctorium.com/blog/ for info on where to find the 5800 in the middle east.
Cheers.

hello, do you know how i can pre-order nokia 5800 here in the philippines?
thanks.
@Sepukuu: sorry, but Nokia Philippines had only 58 phones for preorder (see my notification on Twitter: http://twitter.com/renegadefanboy/status/1039897813). I guess it’s full now as it has disappeared from the Nokia site.
oh.
thanks for the info.
guess i just have to wait for it to be released then.
Any idea about details in New Zealand?
I’ve looked around but can’t find much. I’m guessing it won’t be too long because the NZ nokia website has a big Preorder button… which takes you to the info page and doesn’t let you preorder.
@Reuben: no idea, but preorder in the other cases meant availability in one month. I’ll watch NZ from now on, thanks for the tip :-)
hi just want to know where in singapore is the BRANDNEW & UNLOCKED NOKIA 5800 W/WARRANTY available?does it really cost SGD600?pls reply asap
please help me find the exact store in singapore for me to avaiol the nokia 5800 coz its not yet available in the Philippines.tnx
@dj: as you can see, there is no confirmed date or official price for Singapore. Both the date and December is rumored, but not confirmed by Nokia.
how bout the pre order in the Philippines?can i still avail it?how?
@dj: could I kindly ask you to check the table and the comments? Everything is there.
Preorder was very limited in the Philippines – and it’s already full. Your best bet is Hong Kong or Taiwan.
Does anyone know what price the Nokia 5800 will have in Romania? It’s gonna be available on January 2009 from what i’ve heard but nobody knows at what price.

Nokia Thailand is having a “Touch Play & Share Media Preview and Workshop” on Monday 15. This ensures that the highly anticipated phone is making a debut soon in the country. Price and release date are expected to be disclosed in the event of course. I’ll be back again on Monday for further updates.

Release in Germany: Jan. 16th
A small amount of devicec to preorder on Dec. 16th, will be shipped till christmas, price for preordered devices: 395€
Don’t know the price after Jan. 16th
It seems that Nokia is indeed pushing a limited amount of devices out before Christmas. I just got unofficial information, that Italy is also shipping preorders tomorrow or Monday!
@Andi, @Sebo: thanks, I’ve updated the table with your info.
canu tell me date of release in singapore(5800)..
Official price in Thailand is about 13000baht
Release date is set somewhere between Jan to Feb 2009
Do you think it would be better to buy the 5800 in Taiwan or in Thailand then?
It’s better to buy from Thailand because it’s cheaper, in Taiwan the 5800 costs 344 Euro but in Thailand only 280 Euro.
But in Taiwan, it comes out earlier doesn’t it? And doesn’t it have a special edition stuff? And the timing of the Thailand release still isn’t confirmed right?
I want buy 5800 in dubai market only made by hungary or finland pls tell a shop in dubai
thanks
I have bought a new 5800 xpress music from UAE but its says made in China, is it Original ?

Nokia Philippines-5800 Preorder
I’m getting confused if the release date here in the Philippines really is Jan 15. The URL above discusses the promo mechanics. And it states on Jan 17. Is that just a grand event?
http://www.nokia.com.ph/preorder
my bad.
@chet, thanks for the update. The 15th January was the previous official info from Nokia, but it seems it is moved to the 17th. I’ll correct the table.
Hi Everyone! In Kazakhstan Nokia 5800 is already available in Official Nokia’s store – Fintel. The price 76000 KZT (USD638).
I sign up their pre-order. I just received email confirmation from nokia that i can purchase Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device on January 10, 2009 at the Nokia Store, B3 Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City
Yes, It’s final, it gonna cost around US$ 430 in the Philippines, this Saturday, January 10, 2009. ;)
it’s confirmed, Php19,990 in the Philippines. this was what nokia indicated on the pre-order confirmation email i received.
I got a call from Nokia confirming that they received my registration details. The PHP19,990 might only be for the claiming date, that is January 10. The representative said that the 5800 would most likely carry a heavier price tag after the said date :(. It’s only a rumor; but it disappoints me since I won’t be able to claim it tomorrow.
nokia will be fully available according to nokia uk store the 23rd of february.

Everyone, thanks for the updates – I’ve refreshed the table :) Also, the UK release is quite a big deal – it’s the cheapest release so far & it breaks the usual carrier exclusivity deals!
hi!!!do anyone know when it will come to Greece???
and the price??? please help!!
In Germany its now available. Some 330€ in online-shops.
Prices in big retailers will be set at Fr/Sa/Mo.
Is the date of February 16, 2009 still holding for release here in the States? Can’t wait for it! Please let me know, thanks!!
In Mexico there is music store, but no comes with music, and the phone, acording to rumors, is expected in march.
Although the phone is being sold in stores right now unblocked for 480 Euro. And selling well
Right now in the Philippines, you can buy this phone in any Nokia store at 20,890 pesos (~ US$435), which is 900 pesos (~ US$20) higher than its launching day price and of course no more freebies, except voucher for 450 MP3 Free download from Universal music.
Sorry, the comment above is mine, just forgot to put my details in those boxes! ;)
My friend went to ask the person in the nokia shop in woodlands causeway point yesterday and they say tat 5800 will only be released in singapore in mid Feb. Sad sia. And i read on 1 forum and they say its confirmed tat only M1 will be selling the 5800 xpressmusic in singapore.
Thanks for all the updates guys, girls!
Last 2 weeks I have fallen behind w blogging due to my normal work (don’t you hate when work gets in the way of blogging? ;-), but now I’m updating the table with all the news in January.
I tink tat 5800 xpressmusic will be released in singapopre on the 2nd week of Feb.
only exclusive to M1 ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Tis i am not too sure but i am sure M1 will be selling it. And i read at 1 forum tat M1 is launching 5800 at the end of Feb in Singapore.
hey when is the real release date of nokia 5800 in singapore??????
Hi, thanks for this table! The phone is currenty out in NZ for $899 NZD. Personally, I think this is a lot of raise from the promised 279 EURO. I’v read a few articles telling me that this is because of what the country decides to “bundle” with it, but to my knowledge, the one Vodaone is selling does not look like it comes with anything apart from the mobile? Do you think there will be a price drop? Because if there isn’t, it is so not worth it…no matter how much I’ve wanted it!
Hi thanks for the great table its the only bit of help with this phones price and realase ive found. Is there any way of telling exactly when the Comes with Music edition will come out in the UK and do you think i should wait for the CwM edition or just buy the phone now? Thanks
@Holz: I’ve purchased the 5800 for 429 EUR in Italy, Nokia online shop (also no bundle) before Christmas. It is now 339 EUR. So the answer is: YES, there will be a big pricedrop in 1-2 months :-)
@Bob: my personal opinion is that the CwM edition is a much better value. But of course, Q2 can mean April – June, which is far away ;-) I couldn’t wait for my 5800 that much. :-)
5800 xpressmusic is launching in Singapore on 27th Feb 2009
Thanks for the info! I’ll wait a few months and see what happens… but in NZ phones are a bit expensive. Anyway here’s the link so you can update your table. Hope it works!

Hi, I found this website on how to fix the varying sound problem without opening up your phone and voiding your warranty. Can someone please try this and see if it works?

hi guys. I played with the sample models at the nokia retail store.
damn cool!!
some changes had been made with the previous version.
1. the secondary camera an now be used to take photo!
2. The interface for the message had been modified. To me i think abit complicated
3. it is now able to focus 1st den take photo on the camera. As previous version cant do that
this is some differeence compare from online user.
Hi again, thanks for the advice and after (a lot of) thinking i’m going to wait for the CWM edition and i’m just checking if theres any other news on release date in the UK. IF it is more july time i might be tempted by some newer phones. i.e. the N97, toco ultra etc..
